Market Desk (sports): 18-year-old US player Coco Gauff stormed into her maiden grand slam final after defeating Italy’s Martina Trevisan in the women’s singles semi-final at Roland Garros in the French Open
Coco Goff, a teenage sensation from the US, is making history at the French Open.
The 18-year-old American claimed a 6-3, 6-1 win in a match which saw both players featuring in a semi-final for the first time.
Gauff is the youngest Grand Slam finalist since Maria Sharapova won Wimbledon in 2004. “I think I’m a little bit in shock right now. I didn’t know how to react after the match.
“It’s okay to be a Grand Slam finalist, but a lot is happening in the world right now, especially in the United States,” said Gough, who was shocked to learn that 19 children were killed in a recent gun attack on a school in the US. I don’t think there’s anything that makes me feel so stressed about a tennis match.
