Market Desk (Tech): Apple had unveiled the iPhone 13 lineup in September and even though the iPhone 14 is still months away from its launch but rumors around the iPhone 15 have already started surfacing on the internet
US technology giant Apple unveiled their iPhone 13 series in September this year. The iPhone 14 is still a few months away from unveiling. In the meantime, rumors are being heard about iPhone15.
According to the latest rumors found on the internet, physical SIM slots will be eliminated from the iPhone 15 series in 2023. According to GSM Arena quoting the Brazilian publication Blog do iPhone, possibly iPhone 15 Pro that will be unveiled in 2023 will not have any physical SIM card slot. The phone will rely entirely on e-SIM technology for connectivity. The source further said that the phone will support dual e-SIM. This allows the user to use two lines at the same time.
However, it is not yet clear whether the non-Pro model will have full e-technology or a physical SIM slot. The technology giant wants to eliminate the SIM slot to consistently create portlessiPhones.
However, even if Apple does launch an iPhone without a SIM card slot, the company might still offer a version with a physical SIM slot in countries where eSIM service is unavailable.
As per GSM Arena, then again, 2023 is a long time to go and it’s best to wait for this information to be corroborated by reliable industry sources before considering it final.
