Market Desk (sports): PSG star forward Kylian Mbappe captured a fifth straight Ligue 1 top scorer crown in 2022/23. He is finishing with 29 goals and his second-best total in France top division only behind the 33 scored in 2018/19.

Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette gave Mbappe a good run for his money with his 27 goals, a total few expected to start the season from the former Arsenal man.

This is the fifth time in a row that the award for the best scorer of season has been awarded to him. In which he has overtaken Jean-Pierre Papin, who won 5 consecutive Golden Boots for Marseille (French club) from 1987-88 to 1991-92.

Mbappe has scored 29 goals and assisted 5 goals in 34 matches for PSG this season. Mbappe won the Golden Boot every season after joining PSG (once jointly). Apart from this, he has also been recognized as the League One Footballer of the Year for 4 consecutive times.

Mbappe said that I am very happy with the top goal award. We won the championship. This time I am the top scorer, the best footballer.

The season ended, we won the title. I am very happy about it. But next year, I want to beat Jean-Pierre Papin.
