Market Desk (online): Four people were killed when 2 helicopters collided in the sky near a tourist resort on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia. Apart from this, 3 others were seriously injured.
A picture published by the country’s media ABC shows parts of a helicopter lying on the beach. Also, an overturned helicopter is seen near the popular Sea World Marine Theme Park.
Queensland Police officer Gary Worrell told a press conference at the scene, “The helicopter crashed on the beach outside the SeaWorld resort after two collisions. Four passengers were killed. And the condition of the three injured is critical.
Meanwhile, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau has started an investigation into the collision. The agency described the accident as a ‘mid-air collision’.
In a statement, the Transportation Safety Bureau said investigators are expected to go to the scene soon to examine the wreckage and collect evidence to determine the cause of the crash.
